Polyurethane timing belts, or PU or PUR timing belts for short, are manufactured with steel tension members as standard and are almost maintenance-free because the belt tension remains constant and the stretch is very low. PU timing belts are easy to distinguish visually from neoprene timing belts because they are white, grey or almost transparent. Polyurethane belts are suitable for operating limits between -30°C and +80°C. Due to their advantageous properties, they are low-maintenance and therefore indispensable for most applications. They are used, for example, in synchronous conveyor systems, for controlling linear movements or in drive and transport systems. The PU timing belt is partly made of polyurethane, which has good resistance to oils, acids and alkaline liquids. The low-stretch steel tension member in the back of the belt gives the belt a high degree of flexibility. Thanks to these properties, this timing belt has a long service life, tear resistance and a very low coefficient of friction.
